Tuscany Grill
Tuscany Grill, a pricier and classier version of First and Last Tavern, had a warm, distinctly tuscan-style atmosphere. The menu was impressive and our waiter dorky. The warm, fresh bread served with our water was delicious and dipped in a seasoned olive oil with whole garlic cloves. For his entree, Vernon chose the Chicken Florentine, and Rose chose the Veal Porcini. Vernon’s dish consisted of two large pieces of chicken breast drenched in savory white wine sauce and covered with spinach, tomato, and parmesan on a reasonably large portion of fettucine. Rose’s veal, also on fetucine, was in a marsala sauce with sauteed mushrooms and crumbled gorgonzola cheese garnished with cilantro (so don’t get this, Mary Lauran). It was decadent. Vernon’s meal was about $19 and Rose’s was about $22.
